Wegovy, Ozempic, and Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) help people lose approximately 15%-22% of their total body weight, when combined with healthy lifestyle modifications.

Wegovy is an injectable prescription weight loss medication that was approved by the FDA for weight management. In contrast to Ozempic or Mounjaro, which require a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes,  Wegovy can be prescribed exclusively for weight management in patient with no diabetes.

This is a once a week subcutaneous injection, that works by mimicking a hormone called GLP-1 that targets the areas of the brain that regulate appetite, cravings and food intake. Ozempic, works in a similar fashion.

This helps you lose weight by curbing your appetite and reducing the amount of food you eat by feeling full faster.

Common side effects of Ozempic and Wegovy include, but not limited, to: nausea, diarrhea/constipation, heartburn, belching, upset stomach.

In order to minimize these side effects, we recommend eating small meals, 2-3 times per day; avoid snacking; avoid laying down immediately after eating; avoid carbonated beverages; and eat a diet high in plant based proteins and low in animal fat.

Mounjaro (Tirzepatide), works in a similar fashion but it is currently only FDA approved for patient suffering from diabetes.

Losing weight has many benefits, including: increased energy, lowering risk of diabetes, improving your blood pressure, decrease cholesterol levels, improvement in back/knee/hip pain, improvement in fatty liver disease and improvement in your quality of life.
