Dogfish Head® Teams Up with Delmarva DockDogs® for First-Ever “Dockfish Dogs” Event at Milton Brewery, Registration Now Open
Free, family- and dog-friendly festival will feature canine athletic events, community-focused fun, and a slew of adoptable dogs, all alongside delicious food and beer offerings
MILTON, Del. (April 23, 2026) – Calling all dogs! Dogfish Head is teaming up with Delmarva DockDogs ® to host the first-ever “Dockfish Dogs” event at its Milton brewery on Saturday, May 9. While the competition will start bright and early at 8:30 a.m., the festivities at Dogfish Head will officially kick off at 11 a.m. This free, family- and dog-friendly celebration invites folks (and their furry friends) to marvel at the abilities of some elite four-legged athletes as they go head-to-head in a series of dock diving competitions.
Alongside the day’s main event, guests can enjoy offerings from local vendors and food trucks, sip off-centered beers and cocktails, and even adopt a dog of their very own.
A new take on Delmarva DockDogs’® annual dock diving event, Dockfish Dogs will showcase canine athleticism across three different competitions: Big Air®, Extreme Vertical®, and Speed Retrieve®.
Have a dog daring enough to jump into the contest head-first? While pre-registration has closed, those willing to risk it for the biscuit can register on-site the day of the competition starting at 7:30 a.m. Entries will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis, as time permits.
Anticipation is growing as the Delmarva DockDogs® team looks forward to hosting this annual tradition.
“We are excited to bring our action-packed club to Milton and showcase our high-flying dogs at the brewery!” said David Brown, Delmarva DockDogs® President.
At the Dockfish Dogs festival, Dogfish Head will also debut “The Hoppy Hound,” its all-new, pop-up dog bar. A hangout for canine companions to enjoy a post-competition treat, The Hoppy Hound is designed with furry friends in mind, featuring a pup-approved menu of sugar-free whipped cream “pup cups,” spent grain dog treats, and doggie “beer”, which consists of sodium-free chicken broth.
Dogs of all ages are welcome – no IDs required!
Beyond The Hoppy Hound, Dockfish Dogs will host plenty of other dog-centric vendors and partners, including:
- Yard & Bone

“We’re just so psyched to be teaming up with Delmarva DockDogs® on such a fun event,” said Dogfish Head Founder & Brewer, Sam Calagione. “With the warm weather just around the corner, it’s a great way to celebrate with our community, soak up some sun, and make an already awesome event into something even bigger and better.”
For those hoping to kick off the Dockfish Dogs festivities early, Dogfish Head will be hosting a Fireside Chat at its flagship tasting room in Milton, on Friday, May 8, at 5 p.m.
Folks are invited to join Dogfish Head Brewer & Founder, Sam Calagione, alongside representatives from Delmarva DockDogs®, for a light-hearted conversation about all things beer, dogs and everything in between. No tickets needed.
